Tyne for change as Ross relishes fresh challenge

ROSS Wilson admits he has been in regular contact with Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe and chief executive David Hopkinson as he confirmed a move to St James's Park from Nottingham Forest.

Wilson has spoken about the importance of trust and alignment as he takes over as Newcastle's sporting director, a role similar to the chief football officer title he had held at Forest since April 2023.

Newcastle have pursued him since the exit of Paul Mitchell in the summer and have now triggered a release clause which the two clubs insist will remain confidential between themselves.
