Trapped in rat-infested flats, left with nothing

A NOTTINGHAM man living in a dilapidated block of flats has spoken of his despair and frustration a year on from being ordered to move out by Nottingham City Council.

Wayne Rickers, 64, has lived at Cavendish Court, on Woodborough Road in Mapperley, for 35 years but says he'll be left with nothing when he finally has to leave.

The city council said in July last year that the building was "in a dangerously poor state of repair - presenting clear risks for tenants".

Scaffolding has been installed at the back of the building since 2009 so repairs to balconies and stairwells can be carried out.
