Technology will help connect restaurants to diners to help fill tables

IT'S a win-win situation. Diners can get 50 per cent off their food bill and restaurants get to fill tables that might otherwise be empty as an innovative scheme arrives in Nottingham.

Called First Table, the platform has been successfully operating in New Zealand, Australia and 13 UK cities for years and currently connects 2,900 restaurants with more than two million diners. It will officially launch in Nottingham on Monday August 4.

The initiative connects food lovers to the city's restaurants with a half-price food bill as a reward for early dining at the first table of the evening. So far 15 restaurants are onboard.

Passan's Tea Room & Cocktail Bar, Nottingham's first Indian tearoom and cocktail lounge, in Carrington Street, is one of them. Marketing manager, Mukesh Kunhi Veetil, said: “This innovative platform not only assists restaurants in filling early tables but also introduces them to a whole new audience of passionate food lovers eager to explore unique dining experiences.
