VICTIM WAS STRUGGLING TO OPEN A HEIGHT BARRIER AT THE TIME
AN elderly man died after he was run over by his wife in a car park during a “tragic accident”.
An inquest heard that the accident was likely to have been the result of “sudden acceleration syndrome”, when a driver accidentally presses the accelerator pedal instead of the brake.
David Charles Seymour Chivers, 72, and his wife, Elaine Valentine, travelled to Priorswell Road car park in Worksop on September 12, 2024, to prepare for an event at Bracebridge Recreation Ground that they were both holding the week after.
