Showtime as the city's newest cinema opens

MANAGERS of Nottingham's newest cinema are promising a “UK first” in the coming weeks as they welcome their first film fans.

The city's branch of Vue is tightlipped for now on what the new addition will be, but say that it will be based in its biggest screen.

As Nottingham's newest cinema opened yesterday, The Post was given a first-look around the new site, formerly occupied by Cineworld. The previous operator left The Cornerhouse in February and Vue quickly confirmed it was taking on the site.

Akeem Marere, the area manager for the central region, who oversees 14 cinemas for the national chain, said: “We've gutted it completely to have a self-service element. All the drinks products you will be able to do yourself and it just speeds up the customer journey.
