SEARCH GOES ON TO IMPROVE SQUAD AS NEW SEASON LOOMS
Nottingham Post
|July 22, 2025
THE process of adding to and improving the Notts County squad is ongoing for head coach Martin Paterson and the club's recruitment team as the new season draws nearer.
The Magpies have returned from Germany and won 3-1 in a behind-closed-doors game against Port Vale back on English soil on Saturday, with striker Alassana Jatta able to get a run out and score, having been unable to travel abroad with the squad last week.
He will miss the first couple of games of the League Two campaign due to a suspension carried over from his red card in the playoff semifinal against AFC Wimbledon, so the team will have to look elsewhere for goals to begin with, which is part of the recruitment drive.
Paterson is seeing steady progress from his current squad of players on the training pitch and in games but there is more to work on and more to add from elsewhere.
"That's an ongoing process," said Paterson.
