Safir's road from lockdown hobby to smash burger sensation!

A FEW years ago, during the Covid lockdown, Safir Iqbal was just cooking burgers on the griddle in his garden for friends whenever restrictions allowed.

Now he's just celebrated the first anniversary of his own burger takeaway - Smash Buns - in Eastwood.

The Nottingham Road eatery was long-awaited, Safir, 38, says, and quickly became popular with burger lovers. This reflected in its nomination among the four best Nottinghamshire takeaways in our Notts Bites awards.

Besides the most popular item among customers, which is the Smash Classic, coming with regular burger toppings, two Angus beef patties and a secret sauce, the business also has more eccentric options available on the menu.
