Regulars just can't get enough of Bestwood Fisheries, top chippy for decades

BESTWOOD Fisheries holds a special place in the hearts of locals.

The traditional chippy has always kept up with the times so cod and haddock aren't the only things sizzling on the menu.

It will come as no surprise to regulars that it's in the running for best takeaway in our Notts Bites awards celebrating the best spots to eat and drink in the county. As well as takeaways, the search is on for the top restaurant, pub and cafe.

One of the chip shop's longtime customers, 59-year-old Gary Russell, said: “It's the best in the area. They're always busy. I've been coming here for fish and chips for 27 years.

“They're far above the competition - everybody always talks about it. I remember when I was younger I used to get a bit annoyed, because the queue was out the door so I needed to leave and come back later.”
