STUART Pearce has hailed Nuno Espirito Santo’s reaction to Evangelos Marinakis taking to the pitch last week after the club's 2-2 draw at the City Ground with Leicester City.

Reds boss 'defused it really well' - Pearce

Nottingham Forest legend Pearce believes the manager's handling of a difficult situation was ‘magnificent’ and exactly the right way to deal with it.

Speaking on Betway's Seaman Says Podcast, he stated: “Magnificent. I tell you what, we go on all these coaching courses when you're doing your license, but nothing prepares you.

“You never sit in a classroom and people say, “what do you do when your owner comes on the pitch, when you've just dropped points that might cost you a Champions League place?”

“There's no scenario for these things, so you've got to think on your feet.

“I thought on the pitch, Nuno’s demeanour was good, and I think when he walked off and was in front of the cameras, I think he dealt with it brilliantly, defused it really well, and that's what you've got to do.

“To be fair, the owner's an emotional man. He's got that reputation. He wants the club to do well.
