Plans to knock down fire-hit pub and build shops with flats above

PLANS have been revealed to knock down an empty Nottinghamshire pub which was set on fire just weeks ago.

Firefighters were called to The Cricketers pub on Wollaton Road, Beeston, after neighbours spotted it was burning on the afternoon of Friday, August 15.

People living close to the boarded-up pub, which closed last year and was put up for sale in August 2024, were alarmed about the extent of the damage as they watched smoke pour out of one of its windows. However, when the fire had been put out there was only a small amount of damage visible on the outside of the property.
