One of the best brekkies I've had for ages - and what value!

NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GREAT FULL ENGLISH
breakfast of Lynette Pinchess's dreams - and, insets, the surprising surroundings
SUGARY French toast is luscious and avocado on sourdough feels like a conscious decision to be healthy but the ultimate breakfast for me will always be a full English.
The breakfast of champions, I've come to realise, isn't necessarily the best in a swanky location (with the odd exception).
Some readers view the term "greasy spoon" as derogatory, but it's these down-to-earth, unpretentious cafes that usually rustle up the best egg and bacon in town.
A prime example is Redhill Marina Cafe. It's nothing to do with Redhill near Arnold - this is in the shadow of Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station just off the A453.
I think it's fair to describe it as a hidden gem because. if you didn't know about the cafe, you certainly wouldn't just stumble across it.
We pulled up in the car park at the same time as a couple in a vintage car. They were looking for a gathering of vintage motors, while we were searching for the cafe.
None of us had a clue where we were going.
