Notts hoping for no rain

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE will be aiming to close out victory over Warwickshire at Edgbaston today after dominating the second and third days' play after the first lasted only a few overs.
Warrwickshire closed day three on 163-6, still needing 111 to make Notts bat again although the weather might yet save the home side.
Top-drawer seam bowling by Fergus O'Neill and Brett Hutton put Nottinghamshire in command on Saturday.
Aussie import O'Neill took 5-19 and Hutton 5-38 as the home side floundered to 93 all out.
Only Sam Hain (43, 81 balls) offered real resistance as the visitors made up for time lost on the first day when only 56 balls were bowled.
Nottinghamshire advanced to 204-5 for five by the close of the second day with captain Haseeb Hameed carrying his team's reply with an adamantine unbeaten 75.
When they passed Warwickshire's total for the loss of one wicket, a mighty lead beckoned and though the home bowlers struck back with four wickets in the last session, Notts went into yesterday strongly placed.
