NOTTINGHAM Forest endured a dismal evening in Portugal as their chances of a top eight finish in the Europa League took a blow with a 1-0 defeat to Braga.

Sean Dyche's side made the trip for their penultimate league-phase game with plenty to play for. Finish in the top eight and they progress straight through to the round of 16 and avoid the need for a two-legged playoff.

Their match at the Estadio Municipal de Braga represented an opportunity to take a big step toward achieving that goal.

But you would not have known it from a lacklustre opening 45 minutes from the visitors.
