New ‘learning village’ unveiled as replacement for condemned school

PLANS for a new “learning village” have been unveiled following the permanent closure of a primary school due to structural concerns.

After the problems were discovered at St Peter's Primary, in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire County Council closed the school and sent pupils to schools elsewhere in the county in December.

Since then, the authority has been working to provide a new base for the school's 350 pupils.

The council stated at the time it would open a new short-term learning village next month, with new CGI images showing what the temporary school will look like when completed.

Work started in the new year and the learning village is set to open by the start of the Easter holidays.

The work is being delivered by Arc Partnership on behalf of the council.
