More violence in city as canal path taped off

A CANAL path was taped off by police in Nottingham after a serious assault put a man in hospital.

The cordon was put in place behind the Leonardo Hotel near London Road Bridge in the city centre.
Nottinghamshire Police said the attack took place at around 9am yesterday and detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Several police officers remained at the scene of the cordon yesterday, with response vans and cars also parked on nearby Station Street. The cordon stretched to the staircase of Loverose Bridge.
