MAJOR work affecting a key access route to Nottingham have been announced as part of the final stages of building a £32 million pipeline.

More disruption is on the way as £32m pipeline is laid

Severn Trent is building the 16km pipeline linking the Derwent Valley Aqueduct to the Strelley Reservoir and Redhill Reservoir.

Work started in January last year and utilities company Avove, leading on the work alongside Severn Trent, has now told residents to expect lane closures as the final stage nears.

The final part of the work will begin on June 17 and is expected to last for seven weeks.

Contractors will start the work on private land off the A614 Ollerton Road, before then moving across the Leapool Roundabout. The roundabout, also known as the Redhill Roundabout, links the A614 to the A60 Mansfield Road and is a key part of the route in and out of Nottingham.

After moving across the roundabout, contractors will finish on private land off the A60.
