'Mindless idiots' could shut Sea Scouts' base

VANDALS HIT TOILETS, STORM BAN AND A BALCONY
A SEA Scout water base on the River Trent could close temporarily after it was “significantly” vandalised by “mindless idiots”.
Leaders of the 2nd Beeston Sea Scouts discovered the damage at the base's site at Barton Island, near Attenborough Nature Reserve.
The “disheartening” discovery included “deliberate” damage to the base’s toilets, storm barn and the balcony of one of the four huts.
The vandalism was found on Friday, police confirmed, but it is unclear when exactly it was done.
The base, which has been used by Beeston Sea Scouts for more than 40 years, could now close temporarily as a result of the damage.
