Maternity probe police taking advice over potential crimes

INVESTIGATION HAS RECEIVED 300 CASES OUT OF AROUND 2,500 AFFECTED FAMILIES
POLICE are consulting with prosecutors over potential crimes across maternity services in Nottingham, detectives have revealed.
A major investigation, launched in April last year, is currently under way following hundreds of instances of baby and maternal deaths and harm at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH).
The trust, which runs the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, is also subject to the largest maternity review in NHS history, which is examining the cases of around 2,500 families.
The Nottinghamshire Police investigation, known as Operation Perth, has so far received 300 of those cases, with the rest expected to follow.
