JUDGE TELLS HIM: 'FOR NO REASON, YOU DESTROYED A MAN'S LIFE'
A SURGEON had to amputate part of a man’s leg after a knifeman “flipped out” and stabbed him with a machete.
Mason Knight pulled out the weapon after the victim called him by the wrong name as they travelled to a party in the city.
The 24-year-old then told the man and his friend, who were sitting in a car, to “give me everything you have got', forcing them to hand over £4,500 worth of items they had on them.
The woman, who was driving and has not been prosecuted, then dropped the men off in the Beechdale area, where one of them had to use a T-shirt as a tourniquet until the emergency services arrived.
Jailing Knight for 19 years at Nottingham Crown Court, Judge Stuart Rafferty KC said: “In just a few short minutes, for no reason at all, you destroyed a man’s life.
“He told how he wishes he was dead. You have left him with no life at all.
