Man, 25, admits causing the death of a ‘loving dad' through his careless driving

A 25-YEAR-OLD Nottingham man has admitted causing the death of a “much-loved father and husband" in a collision.

Zakariya Navid initially pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Vasile Predoiu by careless driving when he first appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on December 2 last year.

On that occasion, Judge Steven Coupland set a trial date of June 2 and bailed the defendant.

But at a pre-trial review hearing on May 28, Navid changed his plea to guilty and was told he would be sentenced at a later date at the same court.

The 66-year-old victim died at the scene of the incident after being hit by an Audi A3 being driven by the defendant in Alfreton Road, Bobbers Mill.
