Jobs lost as haulage firm succumbs to fall in demand

A HAULAGE firm has gone into administration and made most of its staff redundant after more than 50 years in business.

B Taylor and Sons Transport Limited, which had traded from Export Drive, in Huthwaite, appointed administrators on Monday.

The company provided transport and storage all over the UK as well as international freight services. It employed 91 people, but most have now been laid off.

Benjamin Peterson and Danny Dartnaill, of business advisory firm BDO, who have been appointed as joint administrators, said the business had been negatively impacted by sector-wide issues including inflation and reduced demand.
