WILL Jarvis started only his third game for Notts County and lasted the full 90 minutes as they drew 0-0 with Crewe Alexandra at home.

Jarvis: It felt like we lost points rather than gained one

It was a frustrating result for the Magpies, who have won only one of their last six games. They are stuttering in their pursuit of automatic promotion from League Two, which is still achievable with eight games to play.

Notts had 16 shots to Crewe's four on Saturday but only four of the former's attempts were on target, and the quality of the chances created was lacking.

County had two big penalty appeals turned away, with Jarvis involved in one of the challenges, and it was one of those days for Stuart Maynard's side.

"It feels like we've lost points rather than gaining one because we felt like we were the better side and should have come away with more," said Jarvis.

"The first half was slow for both teams but it felt like we came out the stronger in the second half and deserved to go on and win.
