Floods closed city road as yellow weather warning issued

A NOTTINGHAM road was closed by flooding before more hours of heavy rain.

Sherwood Rise was briefly closed at the junction of First Avenue due to flooding caused by a downpour on Tuesday night.
The Nottingham Travelwise traffic control centre said the road off the Mansfield Road roundabout was closed earlier yesterday morning. It was reopened before 10am.
Nottingham City Transport, which runs the city's bus network, said one of its routes had been diverted due to the flooding at the bottom of Sherwood Rise.
