A FORMER hospital theatre and chapel could be turned into flats, a café and a co-working space, as developers have warned of severe deterioration to the building.

Flats plans 'would save former hospital site'

The Grade II-listed former Mapperley Hospital theatre and chapel is in a "considerable state of disrepair"

Plans have been submitted to Nottingham City Council for the redevelopment of the former Mapperley Hospital theatre and chapel on Ockbrook Drive, more than three decades after its closure.

The Grade II-listed building is in a "considerable state of disrepair and continues to deteriorate" as it's been standing empty since the hospital closed in 1994.

Over the years, various proposals have been made for the site, including a residential development in 2000 and a boutique hotel in 2023.
