'Excited' Magpies strike deal for Dennis

FORWARD SIGNS THREE-YEAR CONTRACT

NOTTS County have confirmed their first new addition of the summer, signing forward Matthew Dennis on a free transfer from Carlisle United.

The manager-less Magpies have not waited to confirm an appointment in the dugout before springing to action in the transfer market, signing 23-year-old Dennis on a three-year contract.

He scored six times in 14 appearances for Carlisle after joining them for the second half of the season from MK Dons. He spent his youth career at Arsenal and Norwich City before joining MK in 2022 after a loan spell at Southend United.

Injuries to more experienced players led Dennis, still aged only 20, to play more than initially anticipated. He seized his opportunity by netting six goals in 27 appearances before joining Sutton United on loan.
