Drunk man sliced ex-partner's face in horrific attack

VICTIM 'THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO KILL HER'

A 45-YEAR-OLD drunk Nottingham man thrust a knife into his ex-partner's face in the kitchen of her home after overpowering her and telling her "you have pushed me too far".

Nottingham Crown Court heard how the victim of “alcohol dependent” David Anderson “thought he was going to kill her” as he first held the blade to her throat and then sliced her above the eye with it.

The woman said she felt “blood everywhere,” was taken to the QMC for treatment and now has “a permanent reminder” of what happened to her at her attacker's hands.

And at the time, the defendant was on bail for attacking a different victim with a chair in his flat before he and another man rained down punches on that person.

Jailing him for three years, Judge Julie Warburton said: “She believed you were going to kill her, she can't understand why someone she saw as a friend would do this to her.
