'Doughnut Man' is the sweetest sight for needy families

A GOOD Samaritan delivers thousands of pounds worth of baked goods, which would have been thrown away, to people in need across Nottingham every week.

Adam Wood, 42, originally from Forest Fields, started his venture after he picked up some food from his local supermarket for a food bank.

Surprised to learn that more than £2,000 worth of baked goods goes to waste every day at the store, the father of seven took it upon himself to deliver food which would otherwise have been thrown away to people across the city struggling to afford to eat.

Adam, a carer and salesman, delivers the food to primary schools for their breakfast clubs, as well as care homes, food banks, and community organisations and he estimates he has stopped more than £1 million worth of food from being thrown away over three years.
