BACK in the mists of time, side-scrolling beat-em-ups were everywhere and one of my favourite genres to pump coins into.
With the likes of Final Fight, Renegade, Double Dragon, Captain Commando, Warriors of Fate, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Golden Axe - and so many more to mention - the genre has a rich and varied history but one that sadly faded away.
With recent titles like Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, scrolling beat-em-ups have been given an extra life though, with Absolum now taking the genre in a fresh new direction.
