Diversion of 24 miles in place for rail bridge demolition

A 24-MILE diversion is in place ahead of the demolition of a railway bridge in Sutton Bonington.

A section of the A6006 Rempstone Road is closed for reconstruction work until July 20 2026, with the lengthy diversion in place.
The diversion takes motorists along the A6006 Rempstone Road, to the A60, Clifton Lane, Remembrance Way, A453, Kegworth Bypass, A6, and then back onto the A6006.
The closure will be enforced by concrete barriers with a 1.25-metre gap for pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders, however, motorists will not be so lucky.
