Department store could be turned into council offices

A FORMER department store could become Mansfield District Council offices under new plans.

The district council would share space with Nottinghamshire County Council, West Notts College, the Department for Work & Pensions and Citizens Advice under the plans for the site of the vacant Beales store, which shut in 2020.
The district council has said it is preparing to submit the plans.
The authority submitted plans in December 2024 to turn the vacant 1930s property into a civic and community hub called Mansfield Connect, but a new design is now being readied.
