Cricket club to move to new home after plans approved
Nottingham Post
|January 20, 2026
PLANS for a new base for Stapleford Cricket Club have been officially approved, ending the club's long search for a permanent home.
-
The decision allows the transformation of former farmland off Pit Lane into a high-quality cricket facility.
The move comes after the club agreed to leave its shared space at Hickings Lane to make way for the town’s Community Pavilion project.
The new ground is a key part of the £21.1m Stapleford Towns Fund investment, which aims to revitalise local sports and recreation.
The new site, between Stapleford and Trowell, will feature eight adult wickets and two junior wickets.
