Crash caused by 'spur-of-the-moment misjudgment'

A MAN suffered fractures to his vertebrae after a driver crashed into him while trying to overtake a tractor and two lorries on a bend.

A court heard Faris Saad's actions were a "spur-of-the-moment misjudgment" and that he was also left injured by the head-on collision this year on a bend of the A52 Bottesford Bypass in the Vale of Belvoir.

Saad, 48, who was driving a Seat Leon to work with four colleagues, was stuck behind two lorries that had pulled out to overtake a tractor in front of them before safely pulling back into the left lane.

He tried to copy the lorries but stayed in the right lane, attempting to pass them as well as the tractor despite the road bending left - meaning he was unable to see the oncoming vehicle.
