RAGING THUG SHATTERED YOUNG MUM'S EYE SOCKET AND JAW

- By MARTIN NAYLOR martin.naylor@reachplc.com

SHOCKING CCTV played at Nottingham Crown Court showed a “jealous and cowardly misogynist” attack his ex-partner outside her home on her birthday.

In the clip, Samuel Kelham repeatedly kicks the young mother in the face and body as she cowers on the ground before leaving and then “bizarrely” messaging her to apologise.

The 37-year-old’s victim suffered a shattered eye socket and a fractured jaw that required a metal plate to be fitted. She was warned by medics that an operation might see her sight permanently affected by the savage assault.

In a statement she said she fears that when he is released from prison he will “kill her using a weapon”.

Handing Kelham a 17-year sentence, Judge James Sampson said: “You have a bad record of violence and mistreatment of female partners but this incident showed an escalation much beyond what you have previously done.
