Cosy tapas bar that whisks you away to the Mediterranean

INSPIRATION for a new bar in Nottingham has come from a cosy haunt more than 800 miles away.

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS

Vaso aims to replicate the Mediterranean way of life, whiling away the hours over a glass of wine and nibbles.

It was while holidaying in the Italian city of Bologna last year that Kevin Wright and his daughter Naomi got the idea. Kevin said: “It is an amazing place, lots of history, and a fantastic food scene as well, lots of eating out and small bars.

“There was a place we went, called Marsalino, which was similar to this, and it was just like, if we could transport that to here, it’s the place we would like to go and we think other people would like to go as well. It was really friendly and we thought it could translate very well into Nottingham.

“We travel a lot together, in Europe, Vietnam and other places and wherever we go, we always try to search out somewhere like this, where it’s just small, cosy and friendly, nice food, nice wine, and you can just enjoy your time and a place.
