Charity worker who stole £35k ordered to pay back just £1

Nottingham Post

A TRUSTED charity worker who stole more than £35,000 from an organisation which saw him as "part of the family" has been ordered to pay back just £1.

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

A Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at Nottingham Crown Court heard that Zenon Hos benefited to the tune of £35,414.53 from his criminality. But police financial investigators concluded that the 37-year-old father-of-two now has nothing to his name and Judge Julie Warburton this week ordered him to pay back a nominal £1.

The Proceeds of Crime Act (or POCA) allows the police to apply for cash to be seized from criminals who have made their money from ill-gotten gains.
