Candlelit vigil in memory of stab victim Marley

MORE than 100 tributes and candles have been placed in memory of St Ann’s stabbing victim Marley Gascoine.

Friends, family members and community leaders gathered for a vigil on Friday evening in the 20-year-old’s memory.

As of 8.15pm, around 30 people had gathered at the underpass at Abbotsford Drive, the scene of Marley's death.

Gold-lettered balloons spelling out “Marley” were placed on fencing above the tunnel, while music played through speakers.

Among the tributes placed were flowers, photos, cards, a football and bottles of Magnum tonic wine and Martini. In the centre of the display, gold lettering reading “Marlz” was placed, surrounded by candles spelling out “M”.
