Award for 'little trooper' who helps sister to battle illness

A 10-YEAR-OLD girl has been honoured by a military charity for helping her family to battle through a health crisis.

Georgiana Spittlehouse, of Hucknall, stepped up to help younger sister Arabella when she was diagnosed with a chronic disease while her father was serving overseas in the Armed Forces.

Georgiana has been named Little Trooper of the Month by Little Troopers, which supports children of serving parents.

Arabella was left with a lifelong lung condition after a series of complications caused by chicken pox at the age of four in November 2023.

After spending five weeks in hospital, she now lives with water on her lungs and faces regular emergency admissions to hospital to help her breathe.

Arabella fell ill just hours after Lance Corporal John Spittlehouse was deployed aboard, and within two months, she had been admitted to hospital three times.
