Skills drive aims to get more people back into workplace

AN ambitious new initiative aimed at improving adult learning and skills is being launched by Devon County Council.

Essential Skills Devon is designed to support innovative, community-led projects that help people aged 16 and over to overcome barriers to learning and unlock new opportunities. Its aim is to improve adult literacy, numeracy, digital skills and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) throughout the county. The programme has been made possible through the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) awarded to the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority.
