Sunjay Kapur's mother joins Karisma's kids to contest will

Rani Kapur, the mother of late Sona Comstar chairman Sunjay Kapur, has joined his children with ex-wife and actor Karisma Kapoor in challenging the validity of his will before the Delhi High Court.

She argued that she had been entirely excluded from the estate and sought a status quo on his assets.

During Wednesday's hearing on the challenge filed by Karisma Kapoor's children after the disclosure of the will, Rani Kapur's counsel stated that Rani Kapur, a Class I heir, has been completely excluded from the purported will and the RK Family Trust, which governs the family's shareholding in Sona Comstar. To be sure, Rani Kapur was made one of the defendants in the petition filed by Karisma Kapoor's children, disputing Sunjay's will and seeking partition of his estate estimated at ₹30,000 crore.

Under Indian succession law, Class I heirsspouse, children, and motherinherit by default.

Taylor Swift's new album is unfailingly vanilla

Inthe lead-up to Taylor Swift's 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, bakery chain Baked by Melissa released a special limited-edition set of cupcakes inspired by the world’s biggest pop star. Itwas one of many brand tie-ins and corporate activations that have accompanied the album’s release, evidence—if any was needed—that Swift is a commercial juggernaut. The cupcakes, with packaging full of Swift-lore Easter eggs, come in two variants—vanilla, with either a “teal” or “orange” icing.
