The airline's income rose 6.4% to ₹21,542.6 cr with total expenses jumping 10% to ₹19,231.9 cr
The country's largest airline IndiGo Wednesday reported a 20% decline in profit after tax at ₹2,176.3 crore for the June quarter as airspace curbs and overall challenging operating environment crimped its bottom line even as the carrier flew 12% more passengers during the period.
InterGlobe Aviation, the parent of IndiGo which had a domestic market share of 64.5% in June, posted a profit after tax of ₹2,728.8 crore in the year-ago period. In the first quarter of the current financial year, total income climbed 6.4% to ₹21,542.6 crore. In the year-ago, it stood at ₹20,248.9 crore.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said the June quarter was shaped by significant external challenges that created headwinds for the entire aviation sector.
"Despite industry-wide disruptions, we reported a net profit of ₹21,763 million with a net profit margin of around 11% for the quarter ended June 2025.

Fraudsters will mourn the end of UPI payment requests
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has phased out a major feature of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) that has long made peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions both convenient and risky. From 1 October, the \"collect request\" option for P2P transactions has been withdrawn. This is a decisive step to combat a surge in financial fraud within India's digital payments ecosystem.
