India has urged WTO members to explore ways to build secure and interoperable digital public infrastructure (DPI) for e-commerce, aimed at curbing monopolistic market control by big tech firms and boosting participation of MSMEs and developing nations in global trade.
In a communication posted on the WTO platform, India proposed that members discuss digital infrastructure gaps and unequal access to technology that hinder developing and least developed countries (LDCs) from engaging effectively in global e-commerce.
