Defence Minister visits Bhuj base, performs Shastra Puja on Dussehra
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that any provocation in the disputed Sir Creek sector would trigger a “decisive response” capable of altering “both history and geography”.
Singh's remarks came during his visit to a military base near Bhuj in Gujarat, where he celebrated Dussehra with soldiers and performed Shastra Puja, a traditional worship of weapons. His comments coincided with intelligence assessments pointing to Pakistan’s expansion of military infrastructure in the region.
“If Pakistan dares to act in the Sir Creek sector, the reply will be so strong that it will change both history and geography,” Singh told troops. Recalling India’s military history, he said, “In 1965, the Indian Army showed courage by reaching Lahore and in 2025, Pakistan must remember that the road to Karachi also passes through the creek.”
