Jesus is at Cana when a royal official from Capernaum encounters him.

Your son will live

The royal official's son is on the verge of death. Capernaum is 20-25 miles from Cana. The royal official asks Jesus to come down to heal his son. Jesus tells the man to go home, and the man goes his way believing that the word of Jesus is enough. He hears of his son's recovery the following day. His love for his son and his faith in Jesus are abundantly rewarded.

When love is the foundation of trust, it cannot be shaken by any kind of adversity. That is why when we fully trust God, we are assured that we are standing on a very stable, solid ground. We see this in Jesus' trust in the Father. Even in suffering and death, Jesus trusted the Father's will. We witness the same trust in our parents who painstakingly guided us and molded us to who and what we have become today. They trusted even though many times they were hurt. They never lost hope in us. Why? Because they were driven by their deep love for us.
