Treasures in heaven

After teaching the crowds at the Mount of Beatitudes to pray the “Lord’s Prayer” and to fast without fanfare, Jesus now gives the concrete application.

His listeners should level up their value system. They should not get stuck to ephemeral things, which can be stolen and depreciates. Rather they should seek spiritual things.

These heavenly treasures, being immaterial, stay forever in those who seek them. How to store these treasures? Follow your heart’s desire which is peace, love, security, truth, and freedom. Lead righteous lives, lives that conform to the will of the Father.
