Singapore PM Wong to go on first official visit to PH, June 4-5

Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will make his first official visit to the Philippines from June 4 to 5, following his reappointment last month, Malacañang announced Monday, June 2.

The visit comes at the invitation of President Marcos and will mark Prime Minister Wong's first bilateral engagement since formally taking office in May. It will also be his introductory visit to the Philippines.

President Marcos and Prime Minister Wong are scheduled to meet on June 4 for bilateral talks to expand cooperation in health, climate change mitigation, and civil service capacity building, the Palace said in a statement.

"The two leaders are expected to discuss the growing bilateral ties between the Philippines and Singapore," it said.

"The leaders will also exchange views on political and economic issues of significance to the region," it added.
