Schedule limits President Marcos' time in reviewing spending plan
Will President Marcos still have enough time to review the proposed P6.793-trillion national budget for 2026 before signing it into law after the Bicameral Conference Committee moved its target ratification from Dec. 22 to Dec. 29? On that same day, Congress will transmit the proposed spending plan to President Marcos for signing.
House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Angela "Mika" Suansing and Senate Committee on Finance Chairperson Senator Sherwin Gatchalian jointly announced the timetable before dawn on Thursday, Dec. 18, just minutes after concluding the bicam hearings on the P6.793-trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB).
