Marcos says newly renovated PICC is 'back to its old glory'

President Marcos is extremely proud of his administration's recent accomplishments in refurbishing the 49-year-old Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), which will be the venue for the Philippines' hosting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit next year.

"Thank God that we have the PICC," he said in an interview with The Manila Bulletin's "The Sit Down."

The PICC, completed in 1979 during the time of his father, was reopened last week with the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and the President's mother, former first lady Imelda Marcos, in attendance.

The President heaped praise on his wife, congratulating her for the accomplishments she has done since he assumed office in 2022.

"I hope a lot. I'm going to live off that for as long as I can," Marcos responded when asked how much his words meant to his wife.
