Marcos orders DOTr to study proposed higher insurance for private cars in mishaps

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to study the proposal to increase the insurance payment coverage for private motor vehicles in cases of road crash involving PUVs.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President ordered Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to look into the proposal to adopt the insurance system for PUVs to that of private motor vehicles in order to ensure fair benefits claims in cases of death and permanent disability.
Castro said this will be studied thoroughly to determine if it will be just and timely.
