Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso challenged Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua to reflect on what is right and wrong following the discovery of an unauthorized construction project on a vacant lot owned by the city government on Thursday, Aug. 21.

During a media briefing at the city hall, Domagoso lambasted the lawmaker over his connection to the unsanctioned project on Alvarez Street corner Avenida in Barangay 334.

He said the vacant lot used to be the Rasac Covered Court and also housed several satellite offices of the city hall under the supervision of the city’s Public Recreations Bureau. However, it was illegally demolished to give way to Chua’s project.

The project also caused the demolition of the barangay’s Senior Citizen’s Office, barangay hall extension, and day care center.

City Engineer Armand Andres explained that the demolition and proposed construction on the lot does not have any permit or authorization from the city government.
