Kidapawan family finally receives balikbayan boxes from Kuwait which went missing for 3 yrs

A mother in Kidapawan City may have all but given up on being able to receive two “balikbayan” boxes from Kuwait that her overseas Filipino worker (OFW) child had sent their family three years back, conceding that these may have all been lost.

That's why Alma Rios got the biggest surprise of her life when no less than Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac delivered the three supposedly missing boxes, himself, together with other packages meant for two other families in Kidapawan City.

"These boxes are not just material goods—they are the fruits of their loved ones' labor and sacrifice. For every balikbayan box delivered safely, a family's dignity is restored, and a promise is fulfilled," said Cacdac at the turnover of the precious boxes.
